Thanks to the combined support of Grandi Attrezzature Sapienza and Lazio Innova funding, we have acquired a state-of-the-art Near-Field Optical Microscope system. This cutting-edge instrument operates from the Terahertz (1 meV) to the Visible (3 eV) range, in both contact and tapping modes, achieving an exceptional spatial resolution of 10 nm.
By overcoming the diffraction limit, the system opens new possibilities for nanometric-scale spectromicroscopy and pump–probe spectroscopy with picosecond time resolution. Alongside its advanced spectroscopic performance, it also provides Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) capabilities, enabling the simultaneous acquisition of dynamic and static morphological information.
