Manage the complexity of archectural deisgn through the proactive design paradigm

Nowadays, the building process shows a low success rate in terms of reliance of imposed time and cost forecasting. The causes are multiple: the lack of collaboration between the actors, the use of tools not suitable for managing the complexity of the contemporary building, the fragmentation of the market and an overall technological delay in production techniques, still linked to a "craft" vision of the building or anchored to a vision of the industrial system of the second or third industrial revolution.

Dal documento al modello. Approcci innovativi per la gestione digitale della manutenzione // From sheets to models. Innovative approaches for the facility and maintenance management

The di.FM (Digital for Facility Management) protocol is an innovative approach for maintenance management, through the creation of a digital twin interconnected to the existing building. The goal is to create a BIM model that is constantly updated on the
state of the building, therefore capable of collecting related information and monitoring the state of use of the elements and components present.

Swarm building information modeling. An hybrid agents-actor framework to improve design support systems capabilities

The disruptive development of ICT technologies can be a decisive element in bringing the productivity of the construction sector closer to the highest performing ones, such as automotive. We base the proposed research on the improvement of existing tools with artificial intelligence techniques, with the goal of having a self-adaptive model regarding the objectives to achieve. So, we present a general framework based on the Swarm Simulation Modelling approach.
