Breast cancer (BC) is a complex disease with primary or acquired incurability characteristics in a significant part of patients. Immunotherapeutical agents represent an emerging option for breast cancer treatment, including the human epidermal growth factor 2 positive (HER2+) subtype. The immune system holds the ability to spontaneously implement a defensive response against HER2+ BC cells through complex mechanisms which can be exploited to modulate this response for obtaining a clinical benefit.

The occurrence of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) within six months from a diagnosis of breast cancer (BC) is rarely reported in the literature, and it is associated with a poor prognosis. We report herein the case of a 40-year-old woman referred to our centre affected by BC and simultaneous AML. The patient proved refractory to first line therapy and achieved complete remission (CR) with a clofarabine-based regimen followed by allogeneic stem cell transplantation (ASCT).

Following exposure to human plasma (HP), nanoparticles (NPs) are coated with a biomolecular layer referred to as a protein corona. We recently revealed that characterizing the protein coronas of various NPs may provide a unique opportunity for cancer identification and discrimination. In other words, protein corona profiles of several NPs, when being analyzed using classifiers, would provide a unique "fingerprint"for each type of disease.

BACKGROUND: Anticancer drug resistance is a challenging phenomenon of growing concern which arises from alteration in drug targets. Despite the fast speed of new chemotherapeutic agent design, the increasing prevalence of this phenomenon requires further research and treatment development.

PURPOSE:
 To evaluate the diagnostic performance of strain elastography (SE) and 2 D shear wave elastography (SWE) and SE/SWE combination in comparison with conventional multiparametric ultrasound (US) with respect to improving BI-RADS classification results and differentiating benign and malignant breast lesions using a qualitative and quantitative assessment.
MATERIALS AND METHODS:

Breast cancer is the most common malignant tumor in female patients in developed countries. Recent articles indicate that one-sided mastectomy or minor breast surgery to treat breast cancer can have deleterious effects on posture and the musculoskeletal system. The purpose of this study was to investigate the alterations post-breast cancer surgery of the spine alignment associated to the balance not reported by the noninvasive instrumentation.

Aim: This study focuses on the stomach as an unusual but not rare site of metastasis of breast cancer.
Methods: We performed a literature search on gastric metastasis from breast cancer searching for reviews from
2000 to 2018 and case reports from 2013 to 2018. We found 11 reviews and 36 case reports and we compared their
findings about important aspects of gastric metastasis, such as disease free survival, overall survival, symptoms,
endoscopic findings, therapy, histology, and immunohistochemistry.

BACKGROUND: Intraoperative frozen sections (FS) of sentinel lymph nodes (SLN) were evaluated to avoid the need for deferred axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) in patients with early breast cancer (EBC). However, FS has low sensitivity for detecting micro-metastases ( METHODS:
This study evaluated 1453 patients with early breast cancer (EBC) who underwent SLN biopsy, FS and definitive evaluation. Causes of discrepancies between SLN biopsy and FS results and the need for further surgery were evaluated.
RESULTS:

Eighty-six patients undergoing CC for breast cancer were enrolled in a period of 6 months in our Breast Unit. Stitchs and metal clips were applied to the specimen to identify the resection margins and spatial orientation. The RsI was performed in the operating room with the Kubtec machine.
Results

In 2017, the 8th edition of American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) Staging Manual released the updating of TNM. The new edition introduces changes concerning tumor classification that could have a real innovative and useful clinical impact.
