A model to support the public administration decisions for the investments selection on historic buildings

The historical buildings can become an instrument for the growth of a territory in connection with the historic and artistic value, the ability to characterize environments and urban, rural and natural landscapes and on the basis of historical and documentary interest. This is confirmed in the numerous legislative measures that deal with urban planning at the international level. Most of the time, however, the interventions on the historical–architectural building heritage do not respond to logic capable of simultaneously ensuring the conservation and valorization.

High potency of melaleuca alternifolia essential oil against multi-drug resistant gram-negative bacteria and methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus

Purpose: Herein, an extended investigation of Tea tree oil (TTO) against a number of multi-drug resistant (MDR) microorganisms in liquid and vapor phases is reported. Methods: The activity of TTO was tested against methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA), Escherichia coli, and clinical strains of methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA), extended-spectrum beta lactamases producer carbapenem-sensitive Klebsiella pneumoniae (ESBL-CS-Kp), carbapenem-resistant K. pneumoniae (CR-Kp), Acinetobacter baumannii (CR-Ab), and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (CR-Pa).

In-vitro evaluation of different antimicrobial combinations with and without colistin against carbapenem-resistant acinetobacter baumannii

Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CR-Ab) infections are associated with high morbidity and mortality. The aim of the study was to evaluate the in-vitro activity of different antimicrobial combinations (with and without colistin, COL) against clinical isolates of CR-Ab collected from patients with CR-Ab infection, including unconventional combinations such as COL + VANcomycin (VAN) and COL + rifampin (RIF). CR-Ab strains were collected from hospitalized patients at Sapienza University of Rome.

The targeted pesticides as acetylcholinesterase inhibitors: comprehensive cross-organism molecular modelling studies performed to anticipate the pharmacology of harmfulness to humans in vitro

Commercially available pesticides were examined as Mus musculus and Homo sapiens acetylcholinesterase (mAChE and hAChE) inhibitors by means of ligand-based (LB) and structure-based (SB) in silico approaches. Initially, the crystal structures of simazine, monocrotophos, dimethoate, and acetamiprid were reproduced using various force fields. Subsequently, LB alignment rules were assessed and applied to determine the inter synaptic conformations of atrazine, propazine, carbofuran, carbaryl, tebufenozide, imidacloprid, diuron, monuron, and linuron.
