Questo contributo si propone di fornire una ricostruzione degli orientamenti della giurisprudenza della Corte internazionale di giustizia in relazione alla questione della natura giuridica della Dichiarazione universale dei diritti umani e dei principi in essa proclamati. Nella prassi più recente, la Corte internazionale di giustizia ha mostrato un approccio sempre più human rights-friendly, contribuendo in maniera significativa allo sviluppo del diritto internazionale dei diritti umani.
