Immigrant women’s entrepreneurship: is there a development model in Italy?

The aim of this paper is to verify if there is a typical enterprise model for the development of immigrant female entrepreneurship in Italy. Based on the literature on the subject, however, it is useful to ask the following research question: “can membership in a national and international network facilitate the development of immigrant female entrepreneurship operating in Italy”? The survey was carried out by submitting a questionnaire to a sample of immigrant women entrepreneurs in the textile and clothing sector based in Italy.

Competitiveness and sustainability in tourism industry: the "albergo diffuso" case study

The objective of the analysis developed in this paper is to verify whether the sustainability of the hotel ospitality model contributes to the competitiveness of tourist destinations. The research question is: does the model of “albergo diffuso” satisfy the requirement for a social, economic and environmental sustainability? The research method adopted consisted in a survey with the submission of a questionnaire to a number of alberghi diffusi operating worldwide, that is 130 units of analysis. The submission period went from October to December 2016.

An overview on immigrant women’s entrepreneurship in the Italian context

The aim of this paper is to verify whether a successful development model of female immigrant entrepreneurship does exist in Italy. Our study will focus on the potentiality of social media strategies as opportunities for growth and development of new business ideas. The assumptions underpinning the theoretical framework are Hp1, implementing social media strategies is an opportunity for business development, and Hp2, the ability to create partnerships with companies within the same industry has an impact on the implementation of social media strategies.

Female entrepreneurship and management in the immigrants reception sector in Italy

The aim of this paper is to verify whether relational capital allows increasing the information inherent in the process of the network of female cooperative micro-enterprises. The focus on Italy is justified on the grounds that the phenomenon of immigration in Italy has become a central theme in the political and social debate. Based on the literature on the subject and on previous research results it is useful to ask the following research question: does the network affect the competitive advantage of female micro-enterprises operating in the field of immigrant reception in Italy?

Emerging trends in entrepreneurial universities within Mediterranean regions: an international comparison

Purpose – The aim of this paper is to investigate the new role that universities are assuming as entrepreneurial entities supporting the development of regional innovation systems through an international comparison, in order to address the demand for global competitiveness. The purpose of this paper is to compare how some universities of the Mediterranean area and of South-East Asia conceive and implement an entrepreneurial culture through their curricula, conducting a two-way comparison between Italy and Singapore.
