Homeric speakers between narratology and pragmatics
In questo articolo si suggerisce che una combinazione di narratologia e pragmatica si rivela utile nell’analisi dei discorsi diretti all’interno dei testi narrativi.

In astrocytes, the intracellular calcium (Ca2+) signaling mediated by activation of metabotropic glutamate receptor 5 (mGlu5) is crucially involved in the modulation of many aspects of brain physiology, including gliotransmission. Here, we find that the mGlu5-mediated Ca2+ signaling leading to release of glutamate is governed by mGlu5 interaction with Homer1 scaffolding proteins. We show that the long splice variants Homer1b/c are expressed in astrocytic processes, where they cluster with mGlu5 at sites displaying intense local Ca2+ activity.
New edition with commentary of Satyrus, V.Eur. P.Oxy. 1167, fr. 39, col. VII. Satyrus does not anticipate the modern theory that Euripides' romantic tragedies are the starting point of late comic theatre and that Euripides, therefore, is the father of the New Comedy. Rather, in a speech entirely devoted to the use by both Euripides and the comic poets of real-life situations, Satyrus is just noting that Euripides dealt with everyday matters at the highest levels.
Every communication has a relationship aspect in addition to a content aspect: this axiom of Watzlawick's Pragmatics of Human Communication proves useful also when studying the dialogues contained in literary works. The ἀγαθός περ ἐών formula occurring five times in Homer’s Iliad has appeared difficult to interpret precisely because scholars have failed to take into account the relationship aspect of the verbal interactions described.
Discussione dello scudo di Achille descritto nell'Iliade: caratteristiche del 'manufatto' nel suo contesto storico e la sua ricezione nell'arte italiana
This paper sketches out a history of ancient and modern discussions on the aesthetic “imperfection” of the
Iliad and the Odyssey. The views of, among others, Horace, Pseudo-Longinus, F.A. Wolf, F.W. Nietzsche
will be examined, as well as more recent evaluations of the Homeric poems. A passing comment by U. Eco
will also inspire some reflections.
