Education and Technology for a Sustainable Future

Sapienza University of Rome participates in Solar Decathlon Middle East 2018 International Competition. The aim of the team is to design and realize the best sustainable and energy-efficient housing prototype on a real scale. The purpose of the project is to create a Smart Solar House that can guarantee maximum efficiency and effectiveness in the use of technology resources and provide an attractive, accessible and comfortable environment. The present paper wants to analyze the Solar Decathlon Contest from different standpoint, highlighting Smart Systems and Smart People aspects.

Shaping new consumer patterns through edutainment and gamification. An empirical analysis among italian students

The research aims to take place actions in order to promote and exploit short supply chains and fishery products at zero food miles, increasing awareness and sustainability levels in this sector. The project is oriented towards future students, parents and teachers. Students are the protagonists of edutainment initiatives and will be leveraged towards parents who will in turn convey the notions to other adults through activities to be carried out together, with media relevance.

New processes of innovation and reorganization for a transparent and efficient public administration. An analysis of the European and Italian situation.

In a modern, transparent and economically efficient society the public system and in particular the public administration plays an essential and undoubtedly prime role.
Starting from the review of the public administration at European level, through the UN index, the Italian system is investigated with some detail indicators.
One of the main Italian projects in the area started in 2011, called Open cohesion, although he had several setbacks has provided a good basis for an innovative and transparent public administration, user-oriented and citizen.

El futuro de las ciudades digitales: retos, oportunidades y prospectivas

Starting from the definition and the analysis of the smart city notion, this article will introduce the main theoretical sociological approaches upon the topic in object. Digital technologies are increasing transforming social behaviors, social relations, and lately even spatial interaction. The city as a place of production, consumption and prosumption thanks to the digitalization is increasing defined as a hybrid space, a mix of physical and digital con-texts. The article will develop an analysis of the hybridization of the city spaces through a series of case studies.

Smart technology and design in Ambient Assisted Living for the ageing society

Analysis of demographic trend in Italy indicates that in the near future the elderly population will steadily increase. Since 2012, the OECD Science, Technology and Industry Outlook focuses on the issue of Ageing Society, looking into the complexity of this demographic and societal challenge, mainly related to the increase in life expectancy in population of major economies in the world, resulting in the dramatic growth of dementia and other neurodegenerative diseases.
