This contribution reflects on some key aspects of the “museum” (intended in its broadest sense) in order to evaluate its history, formation, and evolution, which today offers a counter-narrative appropriate for overcoming stereotypes and prejudices. This is a new basis for finding a way to care for museums, including their present and past history.
This article is framed in the scope of the semiotics of space, examining the urban periphery and its public space practices (Greimas 1976, Hammad 2003). It is based on a collaboration with an interdisciplinary team of sociologist-architects, anthropologists and urban planners involved in a project for the upgrading of the largest Western-European public housing neighbourhood (about 28.000 inhabitants), located on the outskirts of the city of Rome.
In this paper, the selective interactions of synthetic derivatives of two natural compounds, berberine and palmatine,with DNA G-quadruplex structureswere reported. In particular, the previous works on this subject concerning berberine were further presented and discussed, whereas the results concerning palmatine are presented here for the first time. In detail, these palmatine derivatives were developed by inserting seven different small peptide basic chains, giving several new compounds that have never been reported before.
