This contribution reflects on some key aspects of the “museum” (intended in its broadest sense) in order to evaluate its history, formation, and evolution, which today offers a counter-narrative appropriate for overcoming stereotypes and prejudices. This is a new basis for finding a way to care for museums, including their present and past history. In this context, digital technologies are playing a key role in this change, generating new languages and experimentation that multiply the levels of telling about cultural artefacts, introducing new temporal dimensions and new installation paradigms. This contribution analyses the current changes, pausing on some international experiences and the different approaches they have chosen to take with the technological potential. This is, on the one hand, technology in relation to the space, the content, and play, generating other models of interaction; on the other hand, it is the visitor–museum relationship in a scenario wherein digital technologies act as tools that enable the change.
