Interactive Digital Observatory on the Cultural Identity of Italo-Argentine Heritage

The contribution discusses the little-known topic of Italo-Argentine cultural heritage. The data gathered during the numerous studies performed so far have served as the basis for a Scientific Observatory. Its goal is to promote knowledge of the material and immaterial assets testifying to an integrated cultural process between the two countries as well as to highlight the relationship between Italian and Argentine culture during late twentieth-century mass immigration when Italians actively participated as designers, builders, entrepreneurs, businessmen, and teachers.

This contribution illustrates how drawing can be used to become familiar with the cultural heritage of the four Imperial Cities of Morocco. Accompanied by maestro Pedro Cano, a group of Italian and Spanish artists, painters and architects went on a sort of Grand Tour to study the cities of Marrakech, Essaouira, Fès and Meknès 1.

Assessing knowledge, attitude, and practice of healthcare personnel regarding biomedical waste management: a systematic review of available tools

Biomedical waste (BMW) management is an important commitment of hospitals both in terms of the possible infectious risk and from the financial point of view. Monitoring the knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) of healthcare professionals on this topic represents a source of information on BMW management. The aim of this study is to perform a systematic review to identify the reliable and valid tools able to assess the KAP of professionals in healthcare centers to manage BMW.

Toxoplasmosis and knowledge. What do the Italian women know about?

Toxoplasmosis is a worldwide zoonotic infectious disease caused by Toxoplasma gondii. This infection is estimated to affect about a third of the world’s population. The aim of this study was to evaluate the knowledge of Italian women about toxoplasmosis and its forms of transmission, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and prevention through two different modalities (e-research and traditional research).

Evaluation of the application of italian national guidelines for prevention and management of dental injuries in developmental age

Background: The objective of this study is to evaluate the application of National guidelines for prevention and clinical management of traumatic dental injuries (NGPCMTDI) in developmental age published by the Italian Ministry of Health. Methods: In the present retrospective and multicenter study, 246 patients who underwent dental injury were selected to assess the management of the traumatic event compiled with the protocol provided by the National guidelines. Each health worker involved completed a form related to the dental injury in order to standardize the collected data.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Italy: knowledge, management of patients and clinical experience of Italian dentists during the spread of contagion

Background: The coronavirus infection that emerged in China in the last few months of 2019 has now spread globally. Italy registered its first case in the second half of February, and in a short time period, it became the top country in Europe in terms of the number of infected people and the first in the world in terms of deaths. The medical and scientific community has been called upon to manage the emergency and to take measures.

Technology, Culture and Knowledge

The binomial Technology-Cultural Heritage seems by now an established fact. There are many
tools, procedures and applications that we can define technological and that intervene, in always
different and articulated ways, in the knowledge, management, analysis, conservation, protection
and enhancement of Cultural Heritage in all areas of the world.

What cancer patients actually know regarding medical cannabis? A cross-sectional survey with a critical analysis of the current attitudes

Background: In Italy medical cannabis is a prescription drug since 1998. Even though it could not be considered a therapy as such, it is indicated as a symptomatic treatment also in cancer patients, to cure iatrogenic nausea/vomiting and chronic pain. Patients and methods: We conducted a knowledge survey about medical cannabis among cancer patients referred to two outpatient cancer care centers and a home care service. Results: From February to April 2018, 232 patient were enrolled; 210 patients were on active disease-oriented treatment (90.5%), while 22 (9.5%) not.

Medication errors in the emergency department. knowledge, attitude, behavior, and training needs of nurses

Aim: The aim was to describe which elements of nurses’ knowledge, training needs, behavior, and attitude can prevent Medication errors (Acronym MEs) in the emergency department during all steps of the administration of intravenous (IV) medications. Methods: An anonymousquestionnaire made up of 43 items has been drafted and delivered to a sample of 103 nurses of a university hospital in Rome. The study has been supported by specific literature review.
