Pavimenti cosmateschi da Cencelle (VT). La chiesa suburbana

This intervention has the aim to study and contextualize several fragments of cosmatesque style floor found in the eastern slopes of Centocelle hill where stands the medieval town of Cencelle (Tarquinia, VT). The proximity to the Saint Peter’s church in Cencelle, characterized by the presence of a cosmatesque style floor, is fascinating in order to carry out a comparative analysis with what emerged outside the city walls, relying on the presence of a large amount of data, previously examined, relating to the pavement of St. Peter.
