Despite the efforts made, the number of accidents has not significantly decreased in the construction industry. The main reasons can be found in the peculiarities of working activities in this sector, where hazard analysis and safety management are more difficult than in other industries. To deal with these problems, a comprehensive approach for hazard analysis is needed, focusing on the activities in which a working task is articulated since they are characterized by different types of hazards and thus risk levels.

The attention paid to the use of pesticides has increased notably in recent years as demonstrated by the issue of laws and regulations requiring their safe and environmentally-conscious use (e.g. Directive 2009/128/EC and Regulation (EC) no. 1272/2008). Despite the benefits that can be achieved by pursuing the targets of stricter legislative framework, the difficulties for farmers in complying with it are remarkable, especially for small-sized companies.

BACKGROUND: Living in areas with higher levels of surrounding greenness and access to urban green areas have been associated with beneficial health outcomes. Some studies suggested a beneficial influence on mortality, but the evidence is still controversial. OBJECTIVES: We used longitudinal data from a large cohort to estimate associations of two measures of residential greenness exposure with cause-specific mortality and stroke incidence. METHODS: We studied a population-based cohort of 1,263,721 residents in Rome aged [Formula: see text], followed from 2001 to 2013.

L'igiene ospedaliera in Italia ha una lunga e solida storia che però richiede una necessaria riflessione per poter restare al passo con quelle che sono le innovazioni e gli sviluppi dei sistemi sanitari anche connessi a quelle che sono le attività dell'Unione Europea. A livello europeo infatti esistono diverse tradizioni nazionali che riguardo l'igiene ospedaliera e per questo motivo l'European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) ha adottato il termine "controllo delle infezioni e igiene ospedaliera" per poter così includere tutti i professionisti sanitari dei singoli Paesi.

Introduzione. Il Gruppo Italiano di Studio di Igiene Ospedaliera della Società Italiana di Igiene, Medicina Preventiva e Sanità Pubblica ha promosso e condotto uno studio relativo alla formazione in merito alla prevenzione e controllo delle infezioni correlate all'assistenza, con l'obiettivo di sviluppare materiale formativo efficace a partire dai risultati raccolti. Materiali e Metodi. Dapprima è stata condotta un'indagine rivolta ai docenti di igiene ospedaliera, con l'obiettivo di indagare le percezioni degli stessi rispetto a tale tematica.

Introduction Previous qualitative researches highlighted that people living in Bastogi - a peripheric area of Rome marked by social deprivation - have difficulties in accessing and relating health services. We explored the healthcare workers’ perception of the relationship with such population.
