Preliminary data validation and reconstruction of temperature and precipitation in central Italy

This study provides a unique procedure for validating and reconstructing temperature and precipitation data. Although developed from data in Middle Italy, the validation method is intended to be universal, subject to appropriate calibration according to the climate zones analysed. This research is an attempt to create shared applicative procedures that are most of the time only theorized or included in some software without a clear definition of the methods.

The Work Agentic Capabilities (WAC) Questionnaire: Validation of a New Measure

Agentic capabilities refer to the basic capabilities of mind that, according to social cognitive theory, allow people to
proactively influence their functioning and external context. This study presents a new scale, namely the Work Agentic
Capabilities (WAC) questionnaire, that consists of 28 items and measures forethought capability, self-regulation capability,
self-reflection capability and vicarious capability in the organizational context. Accordingly, an exploratory (N = 290)

Nurses distracted by smartphone use during clinical practice. Italian validation of the "Nurses' use of personal communication devices (PCD) questionnaire"

Aims: Technology in a care setting can help for health professions and improve communication in the multidisciplinary
but smartphone use during the care process would cause distraction and medication errors. This study aimed to
develop and validate the Italian version of the Nurses’ Use of Personal Communication Devices Questionnaire (PCDs
Questionnaire) Methods: This study took place at the Sapienza University of Rome, Italy between July 2018 and
September 2018. A self-administered 22-item Nurses’ Use PCDs Questionnaire was designed and administrated to

Tools to assess the quality of life in patients with Parkinson’s disease. A systematic review

Introduction
. The clinical, social, and economic implications of Parkinson’s disease (PD) are significant; disability occurs leading to a low quality of life (QoL). Information on the QoL of patients with PD and studies on the relationship between QoL and motor and cognitive function are necessary for both research and clinical use to make informed decisions in healthcare and rehabilitation. The aim of this study was to determine which scales are most used to assess QoL in patients with PD.

Italian adaptation of the Insomnia Catastrophising Scale (ICS): a tool to evaluate insomnia-specific catastrophic thinking

Several cognitive mechanisms have been hypothesized to be involved in insomnia disorder. Insomnia catastrophising thinking consists of overestimating the sleep disturbance and the related daytime impairment. The present study aimed to develop and assess the psychometric properties of the Italian adaptation of the Insomnia Catastrophising Scale (ICS) in a sample of 434 university students. The ICS is a self-report tool assessing catastrophic thoughts related to nighttime (ICS-N) and daytime symptoms of insomnia (ICS-D).

Self-efficacy in retrieving positive emotional experience and using humor. A validation study of a new instrument in three countries

Recent research has pointed to the benefits of positive emotions and their appropriate modulation in buffering the impact of negative experience, and in promoting well-being. Two studies examined the psychometric properties of a new scale that was designed to assess perceived self-efficacy in using memories of positive emotional experiences and humor to face challenges and to cope with stressful experiences. In the first study, we examined the factor structure and internal validity of two scales in youths from the United States (N = 1277), Italy (N = 363), and Spain (N=223).

Psychometric characteristics of a new scale for measuring self-efficacy in the regulation of gambling behavior

Since its introduction in 1977, self-ef?cacy has proven to be a fundamental predictor of positive adjustment and achievement in many domains. In problem gambling studies, self-ef?cacy has been de?ned mainly as an individual’s ability to avoid gambling in risky situations. The interest in this construct developed mainly with regard to treatment approaches, where abstinence from gambling is required. Very little is known, however, regarding self-ef?cacy as a protective factor for problem gambling.

The WVAL. A new measure of work values

This study presents a new scale to measure work values. The Work Values questionnaire (WVal) consists of 10 sets of 5 value items that respondents rank for importance. Each item expresses 1 of the 10 basic values of the Schwartz theory in the work context. Seven hundred fifty-nine employees from 94 organizations responded to the WVal. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) assessment of the 10 work values exhibited adequate factorial distinctiveness as well as high internal reliability.

Validation of the Italian version of the Portrait Values Questionnaire-Revised (PVQ-R) [Un contributo alla validazione italiana del Portrait Values questionnaire-revised (PVQ-R)]
