Microbiology - Bacteriology
Our research group focuses on understanding the molecular interactions between bacteria and the human host, with particular attention to clinically relevant Gram-negative pathogens. We use state-of-the-art cellular models, including advanced 3D cultures and organoids that faithfully reproduce human tissue structure and function. Through these innovative systems, we explore bacterial virulence mechanisms, host immune responses, and the dynamics of infection in a physiologically relevant context. Our ultimate goal is to translate new molecular insights into improved strategies for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases.
