Professor Bovino's research is interdisciplinary and focuses on the study of the interstellar medium, from the microscopic scale of chemical processes to the macroscopic scale of star formation. Throughout his career, he has made significant contributions to the study of star-forming regions and to the understanding of the chemistry of interstellar molecular clouds. His research centers on the use of advanced tools—such as radio telescopes, computational models, and laboratory experiments—to investigate the physical and chemical conditions in regions where stars are born. He is a co-developer of the astrochemical package KROME, a widely used public tool for modeling chemistry and microphysics in hydrodynamical simulations. Image copyright: ALMA
