With reference to the theory of speech acts, we propose a textual analysis of the political discourses of one of the most influential political figure in the world, the 45th President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump. Specifically, our work proposes the analysis of both official speeches (90) and published posts on Facebook Official Page (670) during the first year of office (20 January 2017 - 20 January 2018). The comparison between different 'expressive contexts' - the one linked to the mainstream media and the one linked to social networks - makes it possible to identify any differences in the use of linguistic registers according to the medium used.
The material has been analyzed with T-LAB: this software, using both linguistic and graphic techniques, allows us to perform a statistical analysis of the textual data.
