For the eighty years of Italy's entry into World War II on June 10, 1940, the complete inventory of the News on Naval
Actions series (Notizie su azioni navali) from the Supermarina Fund in the Archives of the Italian Navy's Historical Office is published for the first time. They were established by the sub-chief of staff and admiral Inigo Campioni on May 5, 1941 and were subsequently drawn up by the Training Office of the Operations and Training Department of the Italian Royal Navy Staff. Overall, they deal with the main naval operations between June 1940 and August 1943 carried out by the Italian fleet in the Mediterranean, in the Red and in the Black Seas, in the Atlantic and in the Far East against the British Royal Navy and the US Navy, and in the Black Sea and on Lake Ladoga against the Soviet Navy. Some News also concern operations carried out by the German Kriegsmarine. In this first part the News of the naval
actions from 19 June 1940 to 29 April 1942 are listed.
