I received the Laurea (M.S.) Degree in Electronic Engineering in 1996 from the University “La Sapienza”, Rome, Italy, and the Ph.D. in Geoinformation in 2007 from the University “Tor Vergata”, Rome, Italy. In 1997 I joined the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV) where I am actually Research Director. From February 2017 to December 2023 I lead the National Earthquake Observatory of Italy. Since January 2024 I am Contract Professor of Earth Observation Data Analysis at the Dept. of “Ingegneria Informatica, Automatica e Gestionale – DIAG” at Sapienza Univ. (Rome). My main research concern the application of Satellite EO to Earth Sciences, in particular SAR Interferometry technique. In such domain I lead as Principal Investigator international projects funded by the European Union and the European Space Agency. I authored more than 110 scientific paper published on international peer review Journals and more than 150 talks at international workshops and congresses.
