Interessi di ricerca

ieri Mastropietro is a mathematical physicist and Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Rome “La Sapienza.” Formerly, he was affiliated with the Department of Mathematics at the University of Milan. He has been awarded the Annales Henri Poincaré Prize in Mathematical Physics (2006) and in Probability (2018), and was an Invited Speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians (Hyderabad, 2010).He has served as Director of the PHD course in mathematics in Milan, of the
Seminario Matematico e Fisico di Milano and was a Member of the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton (2022). He is a member of the Accademia dei Lincei in the physics class.

His research is primarily concerned with rigorous approaches to problems in Quantum Field Theory (QFT), Statistical Mechanics, and Condensed Matter Physics, particularly through the use of Renormalization Group techniques. His recent work focuses on the mathematical foundations of universality in quantum anomalies, transport coefficients, and critical phenomena; the non-perturbative construction of QFT models; and the analysis of small divisor problems in quantum materials.
