Interessi di ricerca

Saeed Mansouryar is a postdoctoral researcher and transportation engineer at Sapienza University of Rome, where he obtained his PhD in Transport and Infrastructure Engineering with the distinction of Doctor Europaeus.

His research focuses on Transportation Systems Engineering, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), traffic flow theory, traffic operations, transport modelling, and sustainable urban mobility. His doctoral research, supported by the NextGenerationEU program, investigated advanced traffic management strategies, including adaptive traffic signal control, public transport priority, and variable speed limit control, integrating traffic simulation, model-based optimization, and deep reinforcement learning.
His research experience extends to multimodal transport planning, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor optimization, traffic microsimulation, and data-driven transportation analysis. He has worked on the development and evaluation of intelligent traffic control strategies, transport network performance, and Network Fundamental Diagrams using Floating Car Data. His technical expertise includes SUMO, PTV VISSIM, PTV VISUM, Python, and GIS-based transportation analysis.

He has contributed to peer-reviewed scientific publications and international conferences and has participated in research projects involving academic, institutional, and industrial partners. He is also involved in academic teaching and student supervision in Transportation Systems Engineering, traffic operations, and Intelligent Transportation Systems.

His research aims to advance intelligent, efficient, safe, sustainable, and human-centered transportation systems through interdisciplinary collaboration and the integration of transportation engineering, advanced control strategies, and data-driven methodologies.
