1) Studio strutturale e funzionale di proteine coinvolte nella traslocazione del ferro attraverso le membrane negli eucarioti, con particolare attenzione alle ossidasi blu multinucleari a rame e alle permeasi.

2) Studio strutturale e funzionale del fattore trascrizionale responsivo al ferro Fep1 del lievito metilotrofico Pichia pastoris.

3) Studio dell'azione della lattoferrina nella regolazione dell'omeostasi del ferro, nella neurodegenerazione e nell'infiammazione.
