My research focuses on applied hydrology, with an emphasis on extreme rainfall analysis, hydrological and hydraulic modelling, flood and drought risk assessment, and impacts of climate change on the hydrological cycle. I integrate ground-based, satellite, and crowdsourced data to improve precipitation monitoring and to support the sustainable management of water and drainage infrastructures.

Specifically, I am interested in:

• probabilistic and spatial analysis of precipitation using ground-based, satellite, and crowdsourced observations;

• assessing the reliability and accuracy of gridded and satellite precipitation datasets;

• statistical characterization of extreme rainfall events and evaluation of their impact on hydraulic structures;

• drought monitoring and risk assessment;

• modelling and mitigation of pluvial and fluvial flood risks in urban areas;

• sustainable management and adaptation strategies for hydraulic and drainage infrastructures.
