Research activity mainly focused on genetic and epigenetic molecular mechanisms controlling i) epithelial cell differentiation and transdifferentiation; ii) the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT)-mesenchymal-to-epithelial transition (MET) dynamics in physiology and pathology; iii) the intercellular communication mediated by extracellular vesicles (EVs).
