The research is devoted to all aspects related to medical applications of electromagnetic fields. Accordingly, the electromagnetic behaviour of the human body is characterized, measuring dielectric properties of the different tissues as a function of the frequency and the temperature, and developing mixtures to represent in controlled conditions the different tissues. Numerical and experimental studies are conducted to design and characterize sources of the electromagnetic field for medical applications as, e.g. antennas for microwave thermal ablation. New approaches are investigated to improve the outcome and the quality of different procedures.
