Interessi di ricerca

Claudio Di Cristofano is an experienced pathologist whose main interest is focused on bone and soft tissues, skin, kidney and breast pathology with special regard to cancer diseases. From 2001 to 2007 he has been chief of Microdissection (LCM) and Tissue Microarray (TMA) of Molecular Pathology Unit at University of Pisa.  His research activity is discovery of oncogenic mechanisms and therapeutic targets in solid tumors by use of molecular methods in cell and tissues samples. In particular he is devoted to identify novel therapeutic molecular target by FISH, IF, IHC and molecular analysis in tumors sample. During this activity he has used same molecular methods that allow to investigate the protein localization and co-localization in tissue and cell samples.
