The right to the city" (New Urban Agenda, 2016) and fighting climate change (Paris Agreement, 2015) seem to have defined, at the global and national level, a turning point in the policies and strategies concerning cities. In this regard, the paper illustrates a sustainable regeneration process set up to respond to a H2020 call which, in the absence of funding, is transformed into a low-cost process.
