Efficacy of carboxymethyl beta-glucan in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia: A retrospective, case-control study

BACKGROUND: Persistent human papillomavirus (HPV) infection constitutes the principal risk factor for the development of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and cervical cancer. For this reason, new drugs have been studied to support the host immune system against the HPV infection. The aim of this retrospective, case-control study was to detect the efficacy and safety of carboxymethyl ?-glucan (Colpofix®) gel as adjuvant therapy in HPV infection. METHODS: The medical records of patients attending the Colposcopy Service of four hospitals in Rome from 2011 to 2013 were collected.

The Constitutional fallouts of border management through informal and deformalised external action. The case of Italy and the EU

The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence, incidence, regional distribution and underlying diagnosis of pediatric chronic IF (CIF) requiring home parenteral nutrition (HPN) in Italy.

Entomophagy: a narrative review on nutritional value, safety, cultural acceptance and a focus on the role of food neophobia in Italy

In recent years, the consumption of insects, or entomophagy, has produced an increasing interest amongst scientists and ecologists as a potential source of animal protein. Eating insects is also interesting in terms of low greenhouse gas emissions and low land use. In contrast to tropical countries, where most of the 2000 edible insect species are traditionally consumed, the concept of eating insects is still new toWestern culture and diet.

The italian dementia with Lewy bodies study group (DLB-SINdem): toward a standardization of clinical procedures and multicenter cohort studies design

Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) causes elevated outlays for the National Health Systems due to high institutionalization rate and patients' reduced quality of life and high mortality. Furthermore, DLB is often misdiagnosed as Alzheimer's disease. These data motivate harmonized multicenter longitudinal cohort studies to improve clinical management and therapy monitoring.
