Myoma and myomectomy. poor evidence concern in pregnancy.

AIM:
Summarize the results of the many, but often underpowered, studies on pregnancy complicated by myoma or myomectomy.
METHODS:
Survey of the electronic PubMed database for the last two decades was conducted. We selected reviews, meta-analyses, case series, case reports, clinical studies only with statistical analysis, and guidelines from scientific societies.
RESULTS:

Ovarian endometrioid adenocarcinoma diagnosed in pregnancy. a case report

The prevalence of adnexal masses pregnancy is about 0.19-8.8%. The malignancy rate is around 1-6%, and indeed most cases are benign masses. During pregnancy adnexal masses should be accurately evaluated to identify the patients who need surgery from those who need a 'wait-and-see' strategy. The authors report a case of 36-year-old woman (gravida 2, para 2, two vaginal deliveries) referred to the Gynecologic Department with diagnosis of endometrioid ovarian adenocarcinoma.

Maternal obesity as a risk factor for brain development and mental health in the offspring

Maternal obesity plays a key role in the health trajectory of the offspring. Although research on this topic has largely focused on the potential of this condition to increase the risk for child obesity, it is becoming more and more evident that it can also significantly impact cognitive function and mental health. The mechanisms underlying these effects are starting to be elucidated and point to the placenta as a critical organ that may mediate changes in the response to stress, immune function and oxidative stress.

POSITIVITY AND ITS ASSOCIATION WITH QUALITY OF LIFE OUTCOMES AND HEALTH BEHAVIORS. Proceedings XX NATIONAL CONGRESS ITALIAN PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION CLINICAL AND DYNAMIC SECTION URBINO - 7/9 SEPTEMBER 2018 Abstracts

Introduction: Positive Orientation is a general tendency to react to life experiences in a positive way,
a rather pervasive way of looking at and facing reality, framing events, interpreting and evaluating
oneself and subjective, personal and interpersonal experience, past and future (Caprara, 2009). It is
not just a good indicator of the optimal functioning of the individual but promotes such adaptation.
In fact, several results show that people with higher scores on this scale experience greater positive

PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF ORGAN AND TISSUE DONATION Proceedings XXI National Congress Italian Psychological Association, Clinical and Dynamic Section, Milan-27-29 September 2019, SYMPOSIUM SESSION

The donation of human organ and tissues is a prosocial behavior which is particularly
relevant for our society. Although these kinds of donation usually do not entail financial
costs nor painful procedures for the donors, adequate supplies to meet the demand for
these materials are rarely achieved by national health systems and this calls for more
research aimed at targeting the best behavioral intervention for promoting donation.
One problematic regards the proportion of eligible donors which are usually a small

Non-compaction cardiomyopathy in pregnancy: a case report of spongy myocardium in both mother and foetus and systematic review of literature

Purpose: Cardiovascular disease is the main nonobstetric cause of maternal death during pregnancy and is present in 0.5–4% of pregnancies in the western world. While hypertensive disorders remain the most frequent events, occurring in 6–8% of all pregnancies, cardiomyopathies are rare but encompass high complication rates. The aim of this systematic review is to report all data available up to date regarding pregnancies in patients with left ventricular noncompaction (LVNC) cardiomyopathy.

Metformin reduces maternal weight gain in obese pregnant women: a systematic review and meta‐analysis of two randomized controlled trials

Obese pregnant women are likely to face several gestational and neonatal complications. Metformin is an effective oral antihyperglycaemic agent that is considered to be effective during pregnancy. The aim of our study was to evaluate the effect of metformin on obstetric and perinatal outcomes in obese pregnant women. Electronic databases were searched (MEDLINE, EMBASE, Web of Science, Scopus, ClinicalTrials.gov, OVID, and Cochrane Library).

Adnexal masses in pregnancy: an updated review on diagnosis and treatment

Adnexal masses are not common in pregnancy. They are often discovered incidentally during routine ultrasound examinations. In general, 24%–40% of the cases are benign tumors; up to 8% are malignant tumors. Adnexal masses are usually asymptomatic, but sometimes can be responsible for abdominal or pelvic pain. Transvaginal and transabdominal ultrasound is essential to define the morphology of pelvic masses and to distinguish between benign and malignant cases.

New-onset ulcerative colitis in pregnancy associated to toxic megacolon and sudden fetal decompensation: Case report and literature review

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic inflammatory disease rarely arising during gestation. Because the available information is based on case reports or small retrospective studies, diagnosis may be difficult and treatment is still controversial. A case of toxic megacolon developing in late pregnancy associated to a sudden fetal decompensation is described.
