Il gruppo "Paleobotanica" studia la storia della vegetazione quaternaria nel bacino del Mediterraneo, con particolare attenzione a modalità e tempi di dinamiche di popolazioni vegetali a scale temporali da centinaia a milioni di anni, attraverso lo studio di persistenze a lungo termine, estinzioni, turnover, contrazioni ed espansioni di areali di popolazioni di taxa arborei.

The Paleobotany group investigates the history of Quaternary vegetation in the Mediterranean basin, with particular attention to times and modes of plant population dynamics over time scales ranging from hundreds to millions of years, through the study of long-term persistence, extinctions, turnover, range contractions and expansions of tree taxa.
