GDPR and Digital safety. Sociological survey on the digital awareness of Italian adolescents
Starting from a theoretical model for the analysis and evaluation of digital competences, this project is focused on methods, practices and results of a pilot survey on digital competences. The sample is composed by teens between 14 and 18 years old coming from Italian high schools. The survey ¿ promoted by the Observatory Mediamonitor Minori, Sapienza University of Rome ¿ would like to deepen the ways of relationship and influence among types of social capital, relational patterns, life styles and competences in families with the real different digital competences of youth. The main hypothesis is that the digital tools are key-factor for the citizenship and for the promotion of the autonomy and active behaviour respect on many stimuli of digital media.
According to the GDPR and the theoretical framework of digital competence's dimensions (DIGCOMP), the survey uses two tools: 1. A test for exploring the level of digital awareness of a sample of students coming from Italian high schools; 2. A questionnaire on social capital of families, this is structured in more areas potentially interested to understand better digital competences of young people (life style, cultural consumption, communicative and pedagogical habits in families). Specifically, the survey results will be two: 1. Deepening the relationship between educational models in families and the development of digital competences starting from the theoretical perspective; 2) constructing specific tools to analyse and evaluate better all levels of digital competences.
