The article analyzes the effects of the 1917 revolutions on Russian Jewry and in particular the division of the former Pale of Settlement in various states and the spread of the myth of Judeo-Bolshevism. In particular, the documents of the Joint Distribution Committee showed that the passage from the provisional government to the bolshevik dictatorship had multifold implications that included the socialist anti-burgeuouis policies of the Reds as well as the anti-Jewish violence of the Whites.
