Her research interests focus on the role of Jesuit missionaries as scientific and artistic mediators during the early modern period, mainly in the field of "mixed mathematics" - such as optics and linear perspective - and on the transmission of Aristotelian natural philosophy through the production, translation and circulation of printed works, mainly in Classical Chinese. She also works on the Jesuit savants from a global perspective, exploring the intellectual exchanges between the China and Iberian missions.
