Her research interests focus on the visual dimension of early modern science, with special attention to the role of Jesuit missionaries as scientific and artistic mediators during the early modern period, mainly in the field of "mixed mathematics" - such as optics and linear perspective - and on the transmission of Aristotelian natural philosophy through the production, translation and circulation of printed works, mainly in Classical Chinese. She also works on the Jesuit savants from a global perspective, exploring the intellectual exchanges between the Chinese and Iberian missions.
