La mia ricerca si concentra sul Medioevo arabo-islamico, con un approccio diretto alle fonti manoscritte, secondo un impianto metodologico che unisce lo studio filologico del testo ad un esame paleografico e codicologico del testimone manoscritto. Il mio principale settore di studio è quello della medicina, in particolare dell'oftalmologia.
