Dr. Serafini’s work focuses on the development of advanced materials and molecular analytical approaches for cultural heritage. Her expertise includes nanomaterials for the characterization of organic components in artworks, from dyes to organic residues, LC-MS methods to trace diagnostic markers in complex matrices, and innovative proteomic strategies to recover biomolecular information from highly degraded archaeological artifacts. She is also actively involved in technology transfer initiatives, contributing to patents and start-up development in the heritage science sector.
