Taxonomy and nomenclature of vascular plants

Study of plant diversity in critical groups of the world’s flora based on an integrated approach to vascular plant taxonomy, combining morphometric analyses (Clustering, Principal Components Analysis, Principal Coordinate Analysis, Discriminant Analysis, PERMANOVA, scatter plots, box plots) and molecular systematics (nuclear and plastid DNA).

Nomenclatural studies at medium and low taxonomic ranks (from family to form) aimed at: typifications, proposals for the conservation and rejection of names, amendments to the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature (Madrid Code), and binding decisions on synonymy.

Taxonomic groups currently under study: Amaranthaceae Juss. s.l. (including Chenopodiaceae Vent.), Asteraceae Bercht. & J. Presl, Araceae Juss., Caryophyllaceae Juss., Fabaceae Lindl., Malvaceae Juss., Plumbaginaceae Juss., Poaceae Juss., Plantaginaceae Juss., Salicaceae Juss., Ulmaceae Mirb.
