La ricerca, incentrata su funghi patogeni e commensali dell'uomo, quali in particolare Candida spp, Aspergillus spp, Malassezia spp e dermatofiti,  riguarda:

lo studio dei meccanismi coinvolti nella virulenza, formazione di biofilm e nella acquisizione di resistenza ai farmaci antifungini;

lo studio dell’attività antimicrobica di nuove molecole naturali e di sintesi.

lo studio di modulatori epigenetici sull’inibizione della crescita e sui fattori di virulenza .

lo studio delle proteine extracellulari.
