Representation Tools for Pedestrian and Cyclistic Fruition of Urban Area

The fruition of a natural or anthropic territory depends basically on the access and moving condition inside the area. These aspects are related both to the paths network characteristics, like slopes and road accessibility, crossing methods, and usability. In addition, a second aspect, which combines all the firsts, is represented by the way in which humans decide to experience this territory, creating a relationship between the way of thinking and movement, contextualizing their thought identity with the external environment.

The Social Poetry Drawing of Lina Bo Bardi

Within the complex and articulated architectural heritage of the Modern Movement, we are still amazed by the architecture of Lina Bo Bardi. Alive and modern, they never seem to age. Lina’s architecture, at any scale, never seems to lose its freshness in a city in continuous

Rome and its domes. Drawing, art and architecture

Any analysis performed to gather data about architectural and urban heritage always begins with the observation of reality and the involvement established between the observer and the space around them. A spectator inevitably interprets what they see in a personal manner so as to give objects a speci c meaning. The ability to understand the data and the relationship between the parts and then assign it a value varies from person to person.

Freehand drawing. From tradition to the present day

The study of past artefacts as well as representation methods, graphic systems, behaviour and calligraphies are all crucial in the process traditionally used to understand real life drawings of our architectural and urban reality. The repre- sentations executed in academic circles are a good starting point because these drawings portray not only the memory of the places in question, but also the educational approach used over the years to train architects.

Light drawings. Representation and design

This contribution examines several machines and instruments that use fireworks to create light drawings in the sky. Since time immemorial, and even today, numerous publications focus on this issue, including different kinds of Italian handbooks written by chemical artillery experts who focus on these pyrotechnical problems. In the late eighteenth century several important hand- books used extremely accurate and precise graphic representations to explain the composition of these unique mechanisms, the techniques used to create, and the ensuing results.
