Head and neck osteosarcoma—the ongoing challenge about reconstruction and dental rehabilitation

Head and Neck osteosarcoma is an uncommon disease. Hitherto, the treatment is surgical resection and survival is influenced by the presence of free margins. However, the dimension of the resection may represent a hurdle for an adequate Quality of Life (QOL). Maxillofacial district is a narrow space where the function, esthetics and patient’s relational skills fit together like the gears of a clock.

The combined use of clear aligners and computer-guided piezocision: a case report with a 2-year follow-up

AIM:

An orthodontic treatment is described that combines the use of clear aligners and computer-guided piezocision to overcome the drawbacks of traditional corticotomy in accelerating orthodontic tooth movement. The relapse at the 2-year follow-up was also evaluated.
MATERIALS AND METHODS:

The EORTC quality of life questionnaire predicts early and long-term incontinence in patients treated with robotic assisted radical prostatectomy. Analysis of a large single center cohort

Objectives: The aim of our study is to evaluate the role of preoperative quality of life (QL) as a possible risk factor for post robotic assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) urinary incontinence. The secondary aim is to evaluate the possible effect of preoperative QL on post RARP lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and erectile dysfunction (ED). Methods and materials: Between 2012 and 2017, all patients undergoing RARP for prostate cancer were enrolled. Patient's demographic, clinical, and histological characteristics were recorded.

Peritoneal dialysis in older adults: evaluation of clinical, nutritional, metabolic outcomes, and quality of life

The number of older adults requiring dialysis is increasing worldwide, whereas the use of peritoneal dialysis (PD) in this population is lower respect to younger patients, despite the theoretical advantages of PD respect to hemodialysis. This is most likely due to the concern that older patients may not be able to correctly and safely manage PD.
We aimed to prospectively compare clinical, nutritional and metabolic outcomes and measures of quality of life between younger (<65years old) and older (≥65years old) patients on PD.

Cancer Care During COVID-19 Era: The Quality of Life of Patients With Thyroid Malignancies

Background: The Covid-19 pandemic's potential psychological impact has been widely discussed on the basis of expert opinion and previous experience with emergencies of this type. Endometriosis, sexuality and satisfaction: a pilot study on women with and without infertility

Objectives
The aim of this study was to explore whether women with endometriosis-related infertility had poorer psychological, sexual and relational scores compared with endometriosis without infertility.

Methods
Seventy-one endometriosis women (32 with associated infertility and 39 without) completed a survey assessing sexual functioning, relational satisfaction, anxiety and quality of life.

Are social support and coping styles differently associated with adjustment to cancer in early and advanced stages?

Background: Many people experience cancer as a chronic disease followed by adaptation to a new reality. Adjustment to cancer is a continuous process that follows the progression of the disease. Aims: We aimed to support the claim that patients in different stages of cancer develop different adjustment patterns, and that the stage of the disease modifies the interrelationships among social support, coping styles, and quality of life.

The role of coping in the relationship between stressful life events and quality of life in persons with cancer

Objective: Stressful life events (SLEs) impact the quality of life (QOL) of cancer patients. This study investigated the mediation of the relationship between SLEs and QOL (Model 1: Emotional-EQOL and Model 2: Physical/Functional-PFQOL by three types of coping: Action/Planning, Support/Advise-Seeking, and Disengagement/Denial). Design and Main Measures: 662 persons with cancer completed a Stressful Life Events Checklist, the Brief COPE scale, the FACT Emotional, Physical, and Functional Scales, and the Physical Impact Scale of the Sickness Impact Profile.

Forced Cohabitation during Coronavirus Lockdown in Italy: A Study on Coping, Stress and Emotions among Different Family Patterns
