Tools to assess the quality of life in patients with Parkinson’s disease. A systematic review

Introduction
. The clinical, social, and economic implications of Parkinson’s disease (PD) are significant; disability occurs leading to a low quality of life (QoL). Information on the QoL of patients with PD and studies on the relationship between QoL and motor and cognitive function are necessary for both research and clinical use to make informed decisions in healthcare and rehabilitation. The aim of this study was to determine which scales are most used to assess QoL in patients with PD.

Psychometric properties of the FertiQoL questionnaire in Italian infertile women in different stages of treatment

Background: Reliable Fertility-specific QoL measures can be obtained through the FertiQoL, a questionnaire with six-subscales that consider different core aspects of the person’s wellbeing and way of behaving during treatment. Objective: Examine the psychometric properties of all six-subscales of the Italian FertiQoL in a sample of infertile women and explore the effects of the ART treatment phases. Method: 323 women, in three different treatment stages (Diagnostic, Stimulation, Transfer), completed the FertiQoL.

The efficacy of a preparatory phase of a touch-based approach in treating chronic low back pain: A randomized controlled trial

Massage therapy is an important element of rehabilitation in the treatment of chronic low back pain (CLBP). We also examined whether any reduction in pain was linked to interoceptive awareness and parasympathetic activation.

Long-term experience of vaginal vault prolapse prevention at hysterectomy time by modified McCall culdoplasty or shull suspension. clinical, sexual and quality of life assessment after surgical intervention

Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of modified McCall culdoplasty or Shull suspension in preventing vaginal vault prolapse after vaginal hysterectomy and the long-term impact on quality of life and sexual function. Study design: Retrospective analysis in 414 patients underwent vaginal hysterectomy for pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and vaginal suspension through modified McCall culdoplasty (group A) or Shull suspension (group B) was evaluated. Clinical features and concomitant surgical procedures were assessed.

Overactive bladder syndrome treatment with ospemifene in menopausal patients with vulvovaginal atrophy. improvement of sexuality?

The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness of ospemifene in the improvement of sexual function in postmenopausal women with vulvovaginal atrophy (VVA) affected by overactive bladder syndrome (OAB) or urge urinary incontinence (UUI). One hundred five postmenopausal patients with VVA affected by OAB and/or UUI were enrolled for the study. All patients received ospemifene 60 mg for 12 weeks. Clinical examination, 3-d voiding diary and the vaginal health index (VHI) were performed at baseline and at 12 weeks. Patients completed the OAB-Q SF, FSFI, FSDS, and SF-36 questionnaires.

Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy: A Strategy for the Treatment of Refractory Ascites in Recurrent Endometrial Cancer Patients - Three Case Reports and Review of the Literature

Endometrial cancer currently represents the most frequent gynecologic malignancy in Western countries, and the seventh most common cancer in women. For advanced-stage disease, the recurrence risk is high, and the site of the relapse is heterogeneous with localized or spread peritoneal disease. There are few therapeutic strategies, and the quality of life is poor.
