L’emergenza casa rappresenta a Roma uno dei temi più urgenti ed improrogabili. La crescita urbana degli ultimi decenni, unita alla speculazione edilizia che ha caratterizzato la trasformazione del territorio romano, ha inasprito il fenomeno della povertà abitativa.
This paper focuses on the energy retrofit cost-optimal analysis in the usual and deep building renovation scenarios, considering the importance of non-energy-related aspect in an integrated design approach. This objective is developed within the Italian regulation framework on energy efficiency and building renovation. Nowadays, the great part of tax incentives is given to retrofits merely based on technologies existing in the market, without any balanced design approach that may lead to the optimal solution.
This work explores the interdependencies, at the neighbourhood scale, between the built form and the urban materials with microclimate and thermal comfort in the modernist social housing districts of Rome (Italy). Indeed, in Italy, as well as in others European countries, most of the urban expansions happened during the second half of the 20th century thanks to public investments. Therefore, these neighbourhoods represent nowadays a relevant part of built-up footprint and they accommodate many inhabitants.
