Pedagogical supervision: analyzing needs and testing a model in the context of domiciliary education.

Pedagogical supervision is essential for developing educators' professional skills, allowing them to critically reflect on
educational actions and discover new meanings (MLPS, 2021; Law 55/2024). It aims to create a safe context where
professionals share experiences, promoting metacognitive and meta-emotional work to develop new competencies. One possible work context for educators is domiciliary education. The SISMiF (Servizio per l'Integrazione e il Sostegno ai
Minori in Famiglia) operates throughout Rome and in many other Italian cities, with similar goals and structures, inspired by
legislation protecting minors and laws 285/97 and 328/00 (Salerni, 2020). The complexity of domiciliary educational
intervention aims to support the child and the family, ensuring psychological, emotional, cognitive, relational, and social
development (Madriz, 2021; Sannipoli, 2021). This task is carried out in contexts with social, economic, and cultural fragilities,

requiring complex skills and high professionalism (Salerni & Szpunar, 2021), enhanced through training, networking, and team
exchange (Pandolfi, 2023). The project's goal is to enhance the skills of domiciliary educators in Rome through a model of pedagogical supervision based
on the analysis of needs perceived by the educators to ensure effectiveness. The project's specific actions are an analysis of
professionals' needs, exploring their backgrounds and experiences of pedagogical supervision, perceived needs, and working
conditions; the experimentation of a prototype pedagogical supervision model based on the emerging needs, adapted to the
domiciliary education context, with an evaluation of its effectiveness to identify areas for improvement and transferability to
other contexts.
In conclusion, the project aims to create a pedagogical supervision model that effectively supports domiciliary educators,
improving their skills and professional well-being, thereby contributing to a higher-quality educational service.
