Interessi di ricerca

Le linee di ricerca della Dott.ssa Carmela Maria Montone hanno come minimo comun denominatore l’utilizzo di tecnologie analitiche avanzate basate sulla cromatografia liquida accoppiata a
spettrometria di massa ad alta e bassa risoluzione. Nell’ambito degli approcci mass-spettrometrici target, la sua attività di ricerca è stata rivolta soprattutto a matrici ambientali ed agroalimentari per la
qualità e la sicurezza alimentare. Nel campo delle scienze omiche si è particolarmente occupata di tecniche di pretrattamento del campione (arricchimento di peptidi, fosfopeptidi e peptidi solfati) ed
analisi bottom-up nel campo della proteomica in matrici vegetali e biologiche. Più recentemente, la sua attività di ricerca si è estesa ad altre scienze omiche, quali peptidomica, metabolomica e
lipidomica con particolare attenzione ad approcci mass-spettrometrici untargeted. In questo contesto, per il trattamento dei dati untargeted, ha rivolto interesse nello sviluppo di piattaforme personalizzate
di data analysis su software bioinformatici specificamente dedicate a classe di composti
strutturalmente correlati (peptidi corti, polifenoli, cannabinoidi, acidi grassi e lipidi polari).
