Il linguaggio della paura. La strategia social mediale di Matteo Salvini

Through the semiotic analysis of tweets and posts shared by Matteo Salvini over the period 2012-2019, were selected the dysphoric patemical isotopies of his electoral discourse, among which fear stands out. Salvini often argues his ideological positions through fear and is also thanks to the continuous expression of his frames of mind that he is the most followed Italian politician on social networks, because he is considered by the public as a true, genuine, human character, proud of his emotions.

Historias y discursos

Social media have transformed the way of communicating especially in the fashion
system, whose discourses are increasingly volatile and evanescent, but also deeply highlighted.
Brand and influencers build the universe of consumption telling stories, not only
a way to narrate themselves but a peculiar syncretic text that we will analyze with the
tools of Greimasian semiotics. How is the relationship with clothes structured through a
30-second video? What are the meanings vehiculated? These are some of the questions we

Networked volunteering during the 2013 Sardinian floods.

The article describes how ordinary citizens used Twitter as an emergency-management tool during the heavy floods that occurred in Sardinia, Italy, in November 2013. The case study constitutes an example of digital volunteering in the aftermath of a disaster event. The article applies the connective action framework (Bennet & Segerberg, 2012) for a deeper understanding of the dynamics of self-organized disaster communication activities on social media.

Compliments in congratulatory tweets to Spanish Olympic athletes

In this chapter we examine the form and function of compliments in congratulatory tweets sent to Spanish athletes during the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. The study is based on a corpus of 500 tweets taken from the profiles of 14 Spanish athletes (5–21 August 2016). Compliments play an important role in congratulatory remarks as they serve to either realize congratulations or to support them. Findings show that congratulatory acts supported by compliments or stand-alone compliments acting as congratulatory acts exceed tweets of congratulatory remarks alone.

Educational value of surgical videos on YouTube. Quality assessment of laparoscopic appendectomy videos by senior surgeons vs. novice trainees

Background: To prepare for surgery, surgeons often recur to surgical videos, with YouTube being reported as the preferred source. This study aimed to compare the evaluation of three surgical trainees and three senior surgeons of the 25 most viewed laparoscopic appendectomy videos listed on YouTube. Additionally, we assessed the video conformity to the published guidelines on how to report laparoscopic surgery videos (LAP-VEGaS). Methods: Based on the number of visualization, the 25 most viewed videos on laparoscopic appendectomy uploaded on YouTube between 2010 and 2018 were selected.

Stakeholder engagement via facebook: an analysis of world’s most popular museums
