Nano-spectroscopy
In the Nano-spectroscopy lab, we are interested in optical spectroscopy (absorption, photoluminescence, PL, and Raman) on nanostructures with different dimensionalities, with special focus on semiconductor nanowires, quantum dots, and 2D materials like transition metal dichalcogenides and graphene. Besides conventional optical microscopes, which provide a diffraction-limited spatial resolution of about half a micron, we will also employ innovative scanning near field optical microscopes (SNOM), providing a resolution < 100 nm.
