The debate on censorship and anti-Semite measures of the Fascist regime, starting from the Racial Laws of 1938, has been very intense in recent years. As for the prohibition for Jews to work in and even attend libraries, however, we still miss detailed research about the real impact of these measures. As part of an ongoing research on readers’ registers kept in Italian libraries, the paper examines the case of the loans’ registers of the University Library of Naples and presents the first results of this research.
