Il vuoto come materiale per costruire relazioni tra gli elementi della città: esempi di riqualificazione in Toscana
Regenerating city and contemporary territories, giving a renewed centrality to the project of public space, represents a strategic perspective, a way of taking care of the city, starting from what it is currently and returning to its original sense of center of social aggregation. In this reference context, the contribution deepens the theme of the project of collective spaces in neighborhoods characterized by a general condition of physical, social and economic marginality, as a field of privileged action on which to intervene through the implementation of integrated urban regeneration strategies, in order to give a renewed identity and quality to components of the spatial relationship systems and to guarantee the possibility of constructing places for interaction, social cohesion and sharing. Here the results of some projects developed in Tuscany are compared thanks to the ministerial funding for the redevelopment of the suburbs. Almost all the cases highlight the prevalence of regenerating public spaces and in particular the open space: from the green, to the squares, to the mobility, distributed in different places: from the historical center, to the edge of the consolidated city, from the isolated suburbs up to the public housing districts.
