The JEOL JNM-ECZ 600R spectrometer is equipped with a 14.09 Tesla magnet, corresponding to the resonance frequency of 1H of 600 MHz. For the specific needs of the metabolomic analysis, a 30-position autosampler which can be cooled down to -20°C and a cryoprobe was included in the supply contract.
The Raman micro-spectrophotomiter is a Dilor instrument equipped with a red laser (632.5 nm), a Semrock edge filter and a 1800 grids/mm gratings. It is suitable for analysis of surfaces exploiting three objectives (10x 50x 100x).
FTIR-microscopy is an advanced technique that couples the capability of FTIR to provide a chemical analysis of samples, with the magnification power of an IR microscope. This combination allows to add a remarkable spatial resolution (e.g. <10 or <4 microns in reflection/transmission or ATR using Ge crystals) to the infrared spectroscopic analysis of materials, thus opening the door to spatial chemical discrimination of domains in inorganic or hybrid composites as well as in bio-materials.
